Sometimes the best way to talk with your care team is to call them instead of using MyMSK. Here are some general guidelines to follow. They can help you decide if you should contact your care team through the MSKMychart login portal. Alternatively, you can call your healthcare provider’s office.

Send a message through the MSKMychart login portal:

  • To request routine medication refills.
  • To make scheduling requests or changes (rescheduling, canceling, or running late).
  • To ask questions about nutrition.
  • Ask general questions about your treatment plan.
  • Ask questions about your test results.
  • To send disability insurance forms.To send photographs.
  • To request general information (paperwork requests, referrals).

Call your healthcare provider’s office:

  • For urgent matters.
  • For symptoms you have, such as:
    • Fever.
    • Pain.
    • Nausea (feeling like you are going to throw up).
    • Vomiting (throwing up)
  • For issues that need a same-day response.
  • Tell your healthcare provider about complicated issues.

‌ If you need medical care right away, call 911 or go to your local emergency room. Do not send a MyMSK portal message. We do our best to respond within 2 business days to all MyMSK portal messages.

Things to consider

  • Your healthcare provider needs to share your messages with other staff for help in answering your question. This can delay their response. They talk with:
      • Your doctor(s)
      • A nurse
      • A clinical dietitian nutritionist
      • A pharmacist
      • Office staff
    • Electronic communication includes MSKMychart messages and emails. These communications with your care team become an official part of your medical record.
    • Electronic communication will only be reviewed on business days.
    • If you don’t get a response to your message within 2 business days, call your healthcare provider’s office.
    • Your care team will respond to your message by calling you instead of using MyMSK if they think that’s better.

    MSKMychart Login

    The MSKMychart Login portal and mobile app are always available for MSK patients and caregivers. Once you are logged in, you can view and update your personal information.

    You can add emergency contacts. You also have the option to set up email or SMS notifications. Additionally, you can check your Medicare information or cancel your record.

    To manage your profile and settings, you will need to have a MyMSK account. If you are a patient or a caregiver, you can sign up for MSKMychart now. You can find your enrollment ID in an email from your doctor’s office or on your appointment printout.

    MSKMychart Login

    To log in to the myMSK Patient Portal, follow the steps below:

    1. Copy mymsksso.mskcc.org/ssoportal/Account/Login into your browser and launch it.
    2. Enter your username or email address associated with your MSKMychart patient portal account into the designated field.
    3. Enter your password in the provided field. Passwords are usually case-sensitive, so make sure that you enter it correctly.
    4. Once you have entered your login details, click on the “Log In” button to log in to your account.
    5. If your username/email and password are correct, you should be successfully logged into your account.

    How to Retrieve Your Account

    Did you forget your password? To reset your password, go to the MyMSK Patient Portal login page and click Forgot password.

    On the Forgot password page, type your verified account email address in Email or Username, and click Submit. You will receive an email with a link to reset the password.

    Did you forget your username? To recover your username, go to the MyMSK Patient Portal login page and click Forgot username?

    On Forgot username, type your verified account email address, and click Submit. You will receive an email with your username information.

    MyMSK Bill Pay Login

    MSK is committed to treating all patients who need care, regardless of their health insurance or financial status.

    MSK offers services to help you arrange for payment of your bill. These services include insurance billing and payment plans. They also offer financial assistance, which qualifies you for reduced payment or free care.

    How Can I Pay My MSK Bills? Go to the myMSK bill payment portal for ways to pay your medical bills.

    If you have questions or concerns, contact your healthcare provider. A member of your care team will answer Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

    Outside those hours, you can leave a message or talk with another MSK provider. There is always a doctor or nurse on call. If you’re not sure how to reach your healthcare provider, call 212-639-2000
